What we collect

We collect only what we need to match you with the right playing partners:

• Account information — your email address and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
• Golf profile — first name, city, age range, handicap, pace of play, walk/ride preference, competitive style, and the other preferences you set during onboarding.
• Messages — the messages you exchange with matches inside the app.
• Activity — match requests, rounds you log, and reports or blocks you submit.

How we use it

We use your information for two things:

• Matching — your golf profile powers the compatibility engine that suggests playing partners by skill, pace, and personality.
• Communication — we use your email to send you match activity, service updates, and launch news for your city.

We also use reports and blocks to keep the community safe, and aggregate, de-identified usage patterns to improve the matching engine.

What we share

Your profile fields — first name, city, age range, handicap, and playing preferences — are visible to other TeeUp members so the two of you can decide whether to play together. That's the point of the service, and it's the only sharing we do by design.

We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. We share information with service providers only as needed to run TeeUp (hosting, email delivery), under contracts that limit what they can do with it, and with authorities only when the law requires it.

Your email address, messages, and reports are never visible to other members.

Access by our team. A small number of authorized TeeUp staff can access account records and message transcripts, and do so only to investigate a report, resolve a safety concern, or comply with the law — never for casual browsing. We keep that access limited to the people who need it.

Cookies and sessions

TeeUp uses cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session. These are essential to the service working at all — we don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If you block cookies in your browser, you won't be able to stay signed in.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and data, email hello@tee-up.golf from the address on your account and we'll take care of it. We may retain limited records where required for safety (such as reports) or by law, and residual copies may persist briefly in backups before being purged.

Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures: encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and access controls that limit who — and what — can read your information. No system is perfectly secure, but if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you promptly.

Changes and contact
